We all are used to speaking about consumption, emissions and rational use of energy, and the first thing that comes to mind, when we are speaking about it, is how to analyze data to maximize efficiency. Well, in this case, a household involved in the project, returned the first questionnaire correctly completed, with lots of information, depicting a true wine and roses situation. A wine and roses situation, but something was wrong with the consumption indicated. So, first, we used phone contact to verify the information reported, and then planned our visit to the householder. The information was all right, 4 stars house boiler, new buildings with good insulation and double-glazed windows and other goodies like that. But heating and ACS costs were still too high compared to other situations. well, to shorten the story, what we discovered was that the company that built the whole house, made many mistakes: the heating distribution pipes running all along the whole house were in non insulated corridors, and the central heating regulation was set at a too high temperature. The discovery of these defects did not solved the problem completely, but it gave the householder the chance to ask the construction enterprise for some money back. And obviously a better heat regulation.
